The last full day we spent it in Monterey. Love that "city by the bay". Stayed at the Army Base there; very very nice, had a full view of the bay. The fog rolled in at night and didn't burn off until about 10:00 am. Got some more tide pool animals, saw some bobbing seals in the surf. But also watch some early morning surfers. Just don't get these images in Nebraska!

After sailing, (and feeling a little woozy) and since it was a beautiful day, we decided to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. I got over my fear of heights alright, but Angelique didn't. She kept on walking away from the railing . But I figured I'd probably never do this again, so I leaned up against the railing and looked down. Wasn't so bad. What a view!

Can't forget to mention what fun we had sailing around San Francisco Bay in a sailing boat. We chartered one for 4 hours and saw some dolphins and seals swim right along side of us. Went under the Golden Gate Bridge and out to sea, but I cut the ocean jaunt short by getting seasick! I was better in the Bay. Took Jenny Childers & boyfriend, Just, & Angel. Best $500 bucks spent.

Sunday afternoon Justin, Angel, and Rich & Maggs went to the coast and found a rock to roost away from the cold wind. The sun was warm so we just relaxed while Rich was on the hunt for tide pool treasures. These are live starfish, anemones, crabs, and mussels. (The pictures look better when they are enlarged) Best day ever!

We were blown away at the size of the redwood and sequoia trees. We loved spending time among the giants. We found out our new hunting hobby was finding the biggest pinecone. We picked up so many we had to ship them in a box to our house, and carry what we could on the plane. Check out these trees!

Go A's! It is so much more fun to watch a professional baseball game live. It moves much faster than on TV. And especially when it is a close game and the A's win it in the bottom of the 9th!

California Travels

Hi! On Labor day weekend Rich and Maggi spent a little R & R in sunny California with Justin and Angelique. We packed a lot in 7 days. Put a lot of miles on the rental car. Saw some amazing country. We were able to get in early on Sat., Aug. 31, go to an Oakland Athetics game, and see some fantastic fireworks after. We stayed in a motel suite not far from Justin and 1 block from the bay, and right across the street from a mall! Mr. Travel Agent (Richie) did awesome on all hotel and cabin reservations. He seriously missed his calling in life.

A Natural Beauty

Tyani found herself swallowed up in beautiful wild flowers in mountain meadows at Soldier Hollow.

Fathers Day weekend

The Utah kids are becoming water athletes as well as land athletes. See how Taylor, McKenzie, and Jackson and Watson can hold their own behind a powerful boat.

Florida Chisholms come home

Doug and Jen, Dallin and Brooke came to visit us from Ft. Lauderdale. Doug is going to Dental School, and works part time for Delta Airlines. That affords him special tickets for his family to fly anywhere as long as there are empty seats at boarding. They found that to be kind of tricky but they made it and stayed for 5 days. Grandma got reaquainted with the kids, fed them all kinds of treats, got the sugar bugs out of Dallins teeth when he came to my office, went to the zoo and Childrens Museum, played in the sandpile and made gigantic bubbles! I sure got my grandma fix!

Wahoo Chisholm in Utah

Mothers Day was a blast. It was a real treat because we got to see all 9 grandkids. So it was Grandparents Day for the Wahoo Chisholms. We stayed at Tysons house in Lehi & went to church together. A rare, but meaningful time at church was spent with two of our daughter-laws (Jennifer and Yreany) for sunday school and for relief society. I felt so blessed and honored to stand in R.S. and introduce myself and the mothers of 3 of our beautiful grandchildren. Tyson, Doug and grandpa were helping in nursery. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall!

A rare picture of cousins.
Regina, Justin, Dawn, Jason, Donna
It was great having Just and Jase home for a couple of days for the Atheletic Alumni reunion.
Michele faxed a picture of the boys' first and only basketball team when they were in 3rd and 5th grades. Jase had it enlarged, titled it the "First State BB champs". It may have ruffled some feathers at the banquet.

Last Wednesday we had pizza at Grams and Tiffany and Travis joined us. So good to see Travie! He has put on a little weight so he looks like a Chisholm. Gram is 84 yrs now.
